The Otis Prizes are the oldest prizes at Bacon Academy. It was first established in 1853 in honor of Charles P. Otis, Preceptor of Bacon Academy from 1827 -1836. They are awarded to the senior girl and senior boy who have obtained the highest averages in Social Studies during their high school career.
This scholarship was established by Charles Blacker, class of 1914. It is given to a graduating student who is planning to attend college and is based on character, moral and intellectual qualifications, scholastic record, spirit of helpfulness, persistence and financial need.
This scholarship is awarded to a graduate of Bacon Academy who is a native of Colchester and who will pursue an education in Agriculture, Forestry or Mechanical Engineering. It is given in memory of Adam Piekarz, Class of 1936.
This scholarship is given in memory of Gilbert Lamb, class of 1834. It is awarded to the senior who writes the best essay on the subject, “Appreciation of our Own.”
This scholarship is given to the senior who best exemplifies service to the school and community.
This scholarship is presented in memory of August and Teofilia Gorreck and August and Virginia Gorreck To a Bacon senior who has been accepted to a by a four-year college and who intends to major in a field of business.
This award is given to students who have shown the greatest proficiency in world language.
This award is given to a senior for excellence in mathematics.
These prizes are given in memory of Stanley Weich, class of 1928, for general excellence in athletics.
