The Bacon Academy Board of Trustees honored Bacon Academy graduate Steven Bradstreet at a ceremony on May 15th. Steven graduated from Bacon Academy in 1978. While a student in Colchester, Steven was involved with Band, Track and Field, and Colchester Cougars. Steven graduated from Eastern CT State College in 1982 Magna Cum Laude in Business Accounting. He currently works in the IT Department at Atena. The Board of Trustees chose him as our Founder's Day recipient for his years of consistent, passionate volunteerism in the Colchester Community. Steven is and has volunteered in youth sports, scouts, the Bacon Academy Scholarship Fund, the Colchester Federated Church, and co-administrator of the Facebook page, "You Know You Grew Up in Colchester When..." as well as various random acts of kindness.

Students from the Bacon Academy; Carolyn Baehr, Abigail Belding, Mia Belcamino, Birch Collins, and the Bacon Academy Chamber Choir participated in the ceremony. Guest speakers included Superintendent Daniel P. Sullivan, III, Bacon Academy's principal Amy Begué, and Christopher Rivers, Vice Chairman of the Colchester Board of Education. Also, Raymond Frosti, John Dooley, and the Reverend Lauren Ostrout from the Colchester Federated Church and trustees Dolores Sawchuk, Andrew Norton, Arthur Liverant, and Cathy Marvin spoke about Stevens's dedication to his community—a Reception followed in the Stage Room at the Colchester Federated Church. t the Colchester Federated Church.
